I am on a PC, and all of my video clips are REAL avi files, is it possible to set it up so they will be QUICKTIME clips so i can click on them and watch it through QUICKTIME??? And just because i would rather have that done. I dont like REAL.

The problem is that almost no program can read REAL files. I once
downloaded a commercial in that format that I really wanted to
keep so I converted it to QuickTime indeed. The only problem is
that I can't remember which program I used for that. I'll see if I
can find it again (need to remember).

A quick search found RM Converter. Give that a try?
(it can't convert to QuickTime I think, but it lists AVI/MPEG)

it's strange though, all of my video files on my coputer use to be quicktimes files, then i upgraded my windows media, so they changed to that, then i just upgraded to real10 or whatever last week, so now they are all real file clips.

No no no. I'm assuming the icons have changed?

The files themselves have NOT been changed. What Windows
does is display the icon of the program associated with that file.
Such files do not have an icon in themselves or something.

What QuickTime and then Real have done is simply assign those
files to be played back by them.

When you installed both packages there were options which
files you want to associate with that program. You can still
change it after they have been installed by going into preferences.

I'm very sure the files are untouched and still have the original
extension. What you can do is to go into my computer and then
choose Folder Options from the Tools menu. Go to the View
tab and locate "Hide extensions for known file types" and make
sure it is *NOT* on!

You should really learn the basics of how Windows works and
handles files and associations. If you right-click on such a file
you can probably choose QuickTime or Windows Media Player
under the Open With option?

The default application to use for those files has just changed,
that's all.
