Matte monitors...resolution...HDV Cam...HELP
I currently have a Dell 22" DVI monitor with a 1680x1050 resolution, and a Samsung 15" VGA monitor with 1024/768 resolution (and horrible picture/color/brightness). I'm about to upgrade my PC and would like to go with two monitors. Here are my questions:
I would imagine I should get two matching monitors. Videoguys suggest getting 20" monitors. Are those widescreen or not? Is it preferable to get two widescreen monitors when going dual? Should I keep my existing monitor and get one that is of higher resolution like 1920x1080, and use that one for video preview and the existing for controls? Is it beneficial to have 1920x1080 when my primary footage is from a Canon XHA1, which shoots in 1440x1080? How do all these resolutions work together? Lastly, I really don't like glossy monitors on the screen or the bezel. Most retailers don't seem to specify whether the monitor is glossy or matte, which is very frustrating. Even with a matte monitor I don't want a glossy bezel because I can't stand the reflections. Is there a site or any recommendations you guys can give for a good two monitor set up consisting of matte screens and matte bezels? Thanks!!! |

If you have the cash get yourself a pair of Dell U2410 monitors (UltraSharp? U2410 Monitor with PremierColor technology Details).
If not, get yourself one of them. For the money they're probably the best monitors out there right now. They also offer a 22 inch ultrasharp model which is a great choice too. |
