Matrox RT X100 to Betacam SP

Hi there,

We recently moved from our old Perception PVR setup to the Matrox RT X100 but we're having trouble outputting to our BetacamSP.

The Betacam is still looking for a REF signal (screen flickers) which the PVR card would have provided in the past.

How can we generate the REF signal?

Do we need to get a extra black burst generator?

Can we use any other Matrox (or other) break out box with the X100?

thanks, al

If you are shooting with Betacam I would suggest to go to the Matrox Digisuite cards they give, Composite, component, SDI and Firewire (depending on what card you go for) I know they cost more but they are dedicated to high end video production like Betacam (they also come with Premiere).

However I'm not to sure on how to get your BetacamSP back again through RTX100. I would search on Matrox's website:

www.matrox.com/video

All the best,

The BetaSP decks do require an external sync. As I recall, the video does not have to be locked to it. Although you could do that through a TBC fairly easily if necessary.
