I have a Sony PCR 100E (consumer 1-Chip, a few years old) that plays DVCAM - you could try the TRV 900 :)

So I emailed them yesterday and didn't receive a reply and then FedEx arrived today. The new tape plays back fine, so the problem was in fact the DVCAM format.

I believe the other camera I mentioned was a TRV-900. That number rings a bell anyway. But getting access to it would have taken a couple of days, driving 5 miles, etc. If this video person was willing to send me another one overnight without me having to take time out of my schedule and track down a player that may or may not work, etc, I figured I'd give this a shot first. :)

Thanks for your help everyone and hopefully someone else will find this thread one day in a time capsule and get some benefit from it. :)
