Sound Effects for DV

This may be a little off subject but I'm wondering if there is a software package out there that has a collection of special effects sounds, popular movie lines and sounds, etc...all in high quality format. For example, where can you find some sounds on Light Sabers in high quality format?

This is for adding to digital video footage in post.

Grab you self a MD and a good mic and get out there and make your own. Lucus did it. The laser blasts in Star Wars were samples of a guy hitting a HT Powerline tower support cable with a spanner.
Use your imagination, it's more fun.

What does MD stand for?

Found some good Star Wars Sound Effects:

http://theforce.net/theater/postproduction/soundfx/

This guy basically extracted sounds from Star Wars Games....good idea. Send out more links to where I can get other free Sound Effects in high quality if you can.

But good idea about making my own too. Sounds fun.

MD stands for MiniDisc... it is a recordable format. Basically
you can use anything. MiniDisc & DAT offer the best quality
though.

Sorry mate, MD stands for mini disk. It's a cheap alternative to DAT (digital audio tape). It's high quality and digital. Sony make some good ones so do Panasonic and Kenwood. They run about 40 000 yen here (about US$300).
