What Display / Monitor do you use?
I have a 19" Lacie CRT graphics monitor on one PC that I use for my photography work but on the other PC have a HP 21" LCD but its really poor when it comes to color, and can not be calibrated very well.
I need a good graphics LCD but not sure what I can get by with. I know there are some decent ones out there, hoping to get some info here to follow up on. Thanks, Denny |

Image quality in general depends greatly on the video card as well, not only on the monitor. But I'm with you on the general observation - a good CRT monitor is better than an average LCD, especially if we're talking the same price range. To me LCDs are a bit harsh for photo/video work, to the point where you can't bring down the excessive contrast to a usable level.
In the end it's a matter of personal preference. And of course, a computer monitor should only be used sparingly in video editing in the first place... watch your footage on a broadcast monitor instead! |
