video compression

Im having a hard time compressing video so i can put it up on youtube without so much pixelation

im using quicktime conversion, or compressor for final cut pro
but when i compress a 3 minute long video it looks so bad....
how can i control the size of the file? or make it clear and small enough to upload on the web
thanks

I think the problem is QT. I'm not a Mac user, so, I don't know for sure.
You're better off going straight to Flash or Mpeg. I send WMV to youtube and it comes out pretty good.

Try Quicktime H.264 decoding, limit the data rate to less than 2000 kbs and the vertical resolution to less than 360 pixels.
