I question whether or not reusing tapes will result in dirtier heads (I don't know for sure, but would guess it would). You will get more dropouts reusing tapes. I'd sooner use cheap tapes once than premium tapes twice or more.

I don't have an HF100 yet, but from what I've gathered, image quality (on the whole) is quite comparable to the HV30 (or HV20).
