LIGHTING

Mike,
Shot a no-budget 2 years ago with an xl1.... paid EVERYONE with Pizza and Chineese Food.

Our lighting consisted of hardware store reflector light with regular light bulbs of different wattage...we colored them with a blue magic marker to match dayight and left them as is at night.
Also we had onr "painters light"
Not complicated....not expensive......
just very MOBILE and it WORKED cheaply....

Here's a quick question about DVFilm maker.

Will it turn regular 60i footage into 24p? I realize it's supposed to not be as good as magic Bullet but at 1/10th the price well...

I looked at the demo of DV Film Maker last week, and all it did was de-interlace your footage (quite slowly), and didn't seem any better at doing that than FCP or After Effects solutions. So no, I don't think it does 24p. That's a much more complex problem..... I should know, I'm working on code that does just that at the moment.....
