Need advice on shoe mount adaptor

I have a jvc dv5000. I'm trying to connect my varizoom monitor shoe mount to one of the 1/4-20 holes on the handle. I see this at B and H. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...&is=REG&BI=155

			them.

I see this at B and H. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...&is=REG&BI=155 -->>> I own one of these adapters and frankly, it's junk. Also, it has a female hole on the bottom. This means you need a 1/4" threaded stud or rod to connect it to anything. These are available from Lowes. You need a hacksaw to cut it to size. Why not use something like a Mini rover, which has a section for your camera (1/4" screw mount) and a shoe mount. Even Bogen has extended shoe mount adapters (model 233B). |

Im glad you guys posted that link. I just got my SGM X mic in today and I ordered an NRG ball joint mount to hold the mic out from my camera but I just realized that the mounts are different (standard shoe on the mic, 1/4-20 on the ball joint). This little adapter should be perfect to connect the two.
