Making words appear on someones teeth.
Hi,
I am in Pre-production on my next short film, at the end of the film one of the characters needs to have something written on his teeth. The effect would only appear in 3 or 4 shots at the end of the film. Does anyone have any ideas how this could be accomplished? Either in post or whilst shooting. Regards Tony Webber |

It could be accomplished in post by tracking graphics to teeth features (using a compositing package like After Effects or combustion), but the best result will need come from a good deal of frustrating trial-and-error work. You're likely to achieve a much more satisfactory solution with a simple dental application of the words or a prosthesis. I'll bet if you talk to a dentist and he or she will be more than happy to advise you on how to safely achieve this effect, saving you much hassle and expense in post.
