New here and ready to go.... need some advise/tips....

HELLO Everyone.... Recently purchased my DVX100a in April and still feeling it out, I'm filming various types of scenes (very non-descript.) capturing, and seeing my results. (very experimental... changing scenes, diff. shutter speeds, filters, audio, etc.... kind of A-B ing).
Since I'm on a PC, I leaned more toward the Adobe Products...... recently upgraded to PPro 1.5, After Effects6.5, also have Encore, PhotoShop7.0 & CS and Audition. I'm using Total Training DVD's to get up and using PPro, and looking forward to figuring out how to integrate AE & CS.
I have a home studio in which I mostly record other peoples music and vocals. The majority of the music is HipHop/Rap and sometimes R&B.
I've decided to venture into filming music videos for some of the artists I record, and maybe in the future, shooting short films.
I'm trying to get/locate resourses that will help/assist me in the music video creation field.... any training avail?

Also looking to purchase a good but inexpensive lighting kit for filming........ any assist is appreciated

Chris: I've moved your post to a general DV forum. Normally
it is better to split questions and post them in the different
approriate forums. We have a lighting forum where lighting
questions are answered.

So I'm hoping you will get some responses here, BUT better
yet, please try a search and look around the lighting forum
because your question has been asked a lot of times already!

Keep in mind that people wanting to answer your question
could use a bit more information, for example on your lighting:

- budget
- type of shooting (event (wedding, news) requires a completely different light gear than fictional movie work for example!)
- etc.

The same goes a bit for your request for music video training
(which is approriate in the forum I just moved your post to!).
What do you want to do in regards to music vidoe's? Directing?
Camera? Design? etc. etc. That will largely depends on what
you can do.

Best way to learn is usually to try and get a job on someone
else's music video shoot and work you way up... Or try yourself
if you can hook a local music group.

In terms of lighting, you might want to go to the Lowel web site--but don't buy anything but the book by Russ Lowell, called "Matters of Light and Depth." Read that, and then start thinking about buying lights. By the way, the company is Lowel with one L, but the dude's name has 2.
