external harddrive question

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=NavBar&A=getItemDetail&Q=&sku=316001&is=REG&si=spec#goto_itemInfo

ive been looking into this eternal harddrive because it has a "dual interface". I have a PC that doesnt have a firewire port. I was wondering if i would be able to use the external harddrive hooked up to my comp with the USB 2.0. and connect my camera to the external harddrive. This will save me trouble from buying/installing the external harddrive and using my parents computer with a firewire port. It will also give me alot more space to work with with on my very own computer. Please tell me if this will work for me and my computer. Thanks ahead of time , Eric Gieg

You need to tell more details about your computer, hardware, software and OS before anyone can really advise you. If it were me I'd spend the $30 for a PCI FireWire card. FireWire is much better than USB 2 for capture and editing.

software: adobe premiere 6.5

i really hope this could work because it would even be alot of hassle with adding the firewire port because its hard to get to the back of my computer and i also wanted to purchase an external hard drive anyways. thanks for helping
