Lipstick/POV Camera

I need to purchase a lipstick camera for my productions and would like some feedback from fellow Vegas users who could recommend a particular brand.

I'll be using the cam to capture "pilots eye" footage of aircraft so I need something that has secure mounting and also some type of way to dampen vibration.

i have done a lot of this in race cars, and have posted some stuff... so has mike rehmus(sp?).

i use the old sony xc-999, but i believe that there is a newer version of that camera that has a direct firewire out port on it... how were you planning on recording the video?

i would not be looking to soft-mount the camera, because it'll result in picture shake.

one big problem area is the lack of native nd filters and lens cover glass on these cameras, so think about that when evaluating brands... there is a c/cs mount for the sony camera, tho, but it's bulkier and heavier than the factory glass, and it'll require a back-focus adjustment cabability on the lens... also take a look at the toshiba stuff, i think that they make the elmo brand of cigar cameras as well??

I've moved your thread to the general forum since it has nothing
to do with Vegas.

Do you have any idea where I could find that camera? I've been looking at B&H and their selection looks pretty weak.

Panasonic makes some nice commercial-grade lipsticks but they do have a controller box.

After my experience with color shift on the Sony's, I'm going to adapt my Panasonic to vehicle and helmet duty. The fannypack will just have to be a bit bigger.

Those products look as if they are using the same Sony camera that I returned because of the color shifting.
