Kind of in a bind... external Firewire?
So I just got my laptop from HP in the mail after waiting about 2 weeks. So happy when i finally received it. However... noticed that they didnt install a firewire port. Which was shown in the picture, even in the manual. Its just not there. They didn't ask me if I wanted or didn't want it. So I just figured it was going to be on there. I don't feel like sending it back to HP and wait another 2-4 weeks for them to install one because I don't have a computer. Is there a such thing as an external firewire drive that will be compatible with Sony Vegas?

If your computer has an ExpressCard clot, you can get an ExpressCard adapter for firewire.

No, that's for memory cards. It's either a 54mm or 34mm wide slot. What model computer do you have?

It's ExpressCard/54. So go out and buy yourself an ExpressCard/54 Firewire card.
