how to export DVD background as quicktime?

The project itself is off the drive - I only have the DVD itself, imported back in as a disc image.
I am trying to export the background as a QT to show someone.
Prefer not to buy any software to do this.
Suggestions welcomed. Thank you.

I'm reviewing screen capture software. That's probably the ticket. Does anyone here have a preference?

Do you have analog capture capability? The EASIEST way would be to burn a DVD, throw it into a DVD player and capture it.
