AVCHD and Shooting Sports -- Any Recommendations on Settings
I've got a Panasonic TM700 and will be shooting a lot of sports this fall (youth soccer).
With AVCHD camcorders, are their any in-camera settings that work well with action sports? I've searched this forum and did not see many threads. I thought I saw a thread a month or so a go on shutter speed settings but could not locate it. Thanks...Alan |

I don't have any first hand experience with the TM700 but the general recommendations for single camera shooting has been 720/60p followed by 1080/30i (what we used to call 1080/60i) in order to get the smoothest depiction of motion. The more frames the better. 720/60p is what is used for NFL broadcasts. It gives you 60 full frames per second while 1080/30 i gives you 60 fields (half frames) per second. If memory serves, the TM700 will shoot full 1080p, which seems like it would be even better than 720/60p.
I'd suggest asking this question in the Panasonic AVCCAM forum. |
