Firewire to USB. at DVinfo.net

Hi all, not sure if this is the right section but here goes.
I have a Canon XL2 with firewire and seem to have the occasional problem with the connection.
I have seen Firewire to usb cables,would there be any problem quality wise in using one of these cables..............Pete.

Save your money -- they do not work. We have several older threads that have consistently reported this fact.

You can gaff tape an extension cord to a garden hose, but when you plug it into the wall, water still won't come out.
They are a rip off, USB and FireWire need signal converters, not just pin adapters.
