iPhone to AV receiver

There is a "lightening digital AV adaptor" for the iPhone 5 which enables one to go from lightening to HDMI. My AV receiver has several HDMI IN jacks and an HDMI OUT to an HD projector. So I was thinking I can just use an HDMI cable to connect my iPhone 5 to one of the HDMI IN jacks on the AV receiver, and watch anything that is viewable on the iPhone. Yes? No?

Correct. At least, that's how the 30-pin dock connector to HDMI adapter works. Will expect exactly the same from this new Lightning cable..

Re: iPhone to AV receiver

As long as nothing is "wonky" with the HDCP implementation on any component in the chain, this should work just fine.

ANY implementation of HDMI should indicate SHOULD work...

Re: iPhone to AV receiver

Another cool option that we use is the $99 Apple TV. It's great being able to wirelessly send iOS device content without physically having to plug anything in. The only bummer is that it is 720p.
