Sometimes I have no option but to record and upload the video later especially if the venue is in a rural area. We do the best to make sure our gear does work correctly but anything can easily fail. On paid jobs we have a clause in the contract that states if we have a reception or gear issue we will do a delayed broadcast.

Our standard work flow for stuff like weddings is cameras (1 xhdmi and 2 x USB) into a laptop which outputs to a Teradek encoder that is unique to our Livestream CDN so we can preset it to the event page and simply stream! If anything between the hdmi camera right up to the encoder fails, all we do is mount the encoder onto the main camera cold shoe. plug in the HDMI cable and stream as a single camera source!
