Bad Camera

I seem to be hitting a lot of bad luck lately. I bought a demo camcorder from Adorama like new condition 0 hrs. But it was a lemon in the worst way because when I got it I tested it around the house and looked identical to the camera I already had.

After a couple of weeks I decided it was ready for a job so I filmed a theater performance. The video didn’t look quite right soft and out of focus. But it was a dark low contrast light and some sections of the performance had saturated led lights. I blamed myself maybe I accidentally touched the lens focus ring in the dark or set the manual focus wrong.

Fast forward a couple of weeks I loaned it to friend to film one of my important clients performance same thing again. Awful looking video. I’m angry at myself for buying a demo and for taking two jobs to figure out the camera was a lemon. Too late to return now I have to send back to JVC for service luckily it’s still under warranty. I wish I could get a replacement because how am I going to tell it’s really fixed when I get it back.
