As I said earlier in thread, teleextender vignettes till past midpoint through the zoom range, but then, at that point you could still be shooting with the prime lens.

Judge for yourself whether you need to go Century route. I was happy with the result (see frame grabs I posted above.)

Yes.

1/- The "small" extra reach is too expensive.

2/- The colours look great.

3/- I do like the accentuated shallow DoF effect - making the pigeon's head "pop" out more - I like that!

4/- I would definitely need to try-before-I-buy to convince me one way or the other.

Just to bring my friends, here, up to speed ( it was over a year ago!) and give me "closure" to my TELE decison/purchase experiences - I got me a Century Precision Optics 2x from an eBay seller for . . . £90!

What's the most recent prices? - I'm well pleased with the price AND, notwithstanding the loss of the lower 50% of zoom for vignetting, the results too.

Now I'm going to have to work out just HOW to operate 2 cameras simultaneously - one on WIDE and the other on TELE!!
