slide scanning- toward/away from light?
When I place a slide on my flatbed scanner do I place the smooth shiny side toward the light which is in the lid of the scanner, or toward the glass (shiny side down).

You should be able to tell based on the image itself. It will be reversed if you put it in backwards (any text in the picture would be backwards, for example)...

reversed image
Thanks, finally just one of the images had any text for reference (which I didn't find til several had been scanned) and when it came up backwards I realized that I had been given wrong advice by one of the Epson people.
I wanted to make sure that there wasn't some unusual thing - like that the slide was made incorrectly or something. So it looks like shiny side down is the way to go. |
