I got one off ebay, but the camera wouldn't recognize it? Any ideas on where to get some extra batteries?

Hi Steve
All the new Panasonics have a built-in battery chip that verifies that you using a suitable battery. The safest bet is to use an OEM battery (I know they cost a bundle!!) Most generics claim that their batteries will work with the camera but from experience I have bought (and discarded) a whole bunch already that say they will work but don't!!! They look identical but the cam will reject them!! However these generics do work and supply the necessary time left indication too. Panasonic VW-VBG260 Equivalent Camcorder Battery | Mallbox.net A friend of mine is using them in his 700 and said he is very happy with the results. About $50 each for the 260. Chris |
