dvx100 and audio adapters

does anyone know of a way to make a beachtek dxa-8 work with this camera? Like most adapters it has a 1/8 mini adapter, input to the camera but the camera only has xlr inputs. Any suggestions?

Why would you want to do this? What are you trying to accomplish?

Yeah - the DVX already has all the features the DXA-8 has. The Beachtek won't give better sound than the DVX by itself... so why add it to the production chain? Is there some specific reason?

adapter

Basically i want the cleanest sound possible. I read a few posts ( i forget where) that talked about a noise problem with the audio.
The dxa has a preamp and limitter. Does the dvx100 have simmilar functions. Keep in mind I just bought the camera yesterday so I am still learning about it. I read that the sony products are helped considerably by these types of adapters.
Any thoughts?

There really is no point to all of this if the dvx can deliver superior sound on its own.

The Sony products are helped by such a device, but the DVX has no need for it -- it has the best audio of any prosumer camera available. It has a limiter, good pre-amps, phantom power, adjustable sensitivity, everything you need to get great audio (except pro mic's, of course!)
