AG-DVC100 - can someone give me a run down?

I am looking at a second hand panasonic camera and thought the model was a misprint (instead of a dvx100) until i read some things here on the search...

I was wandering if someone knew of any links to reviews or could give me a quick run down on where it ranks - is the dvx100 the 'newer' generation?

thx

There is no such thing as a DVC100
there is an
AG-DVX100
AG-DVX100A
AG-DVC30
AG-DVC60
AG-DVC80

You might want to make sure that you are actually getting a DVX and that the missprint isn't the number but the letters.

Well, there was a AG-DVC200, but that link looks like they are talking about the DVX100, as it is the only camera in that line that has 24p, however, it seems they got the name wrong becasue I have never seen a DVC100. Maybe that was the pre-production name. The names are easy to get confused, but make sure that if you order a camera, that you know what you are getting before you pay for it.

Random stab -- wasn't the Chinese PAL version of the DVX called the DVC100?

Was it? I guess I don't follow the Chinees economy that much. I did a search for the DVC100 and kept getting the DVX100 or google asking me if I ment the DVX100. HMMMMMM.

it's cool guys - i've decided to purchase a brand new unit which will cost me quite a bit more - but for piece of mind.....

only disadvantage is that the used unit came with the 16:9 adapter...sigh...
