Better take another look at that camera. If it's a JVC DV500, then it does *not* have a flip-out LCD viewfinder display. It does have an LCD data display, perhaps that's what you mean, if so my apologies.

The only two shoulder-mount cameras with flip-out LCD viewfinder displays are the Sony DSR250 and the yet-to-be-released JVC DV5000 (the forthcoming replacement of the DV500).

Thanks for your thoughtful and weighty reply. I wonder if with the lcd one could do more handholding then with similar weight cameras without the flip lcd?
Does the camera have any kind of image stabilization? I also noticed in the specs that there is a "Hi rez-frame mode for a more cinemaphotographic effect", I wonder how much this looks like the 24 fps mode on the Pany?
I will sure appreciate the report when you get to play with one.
