DVC 30 - Beer Drinkers in Space

I purchased a Panasonic DVC 30 earlier this year and just completed a documentary with it. It was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro. I applied the Magic Bullet Filmic effect to the viedo. You can see screen shots from the documentary shot with the DVC 30 at www.beerdrinkersinspace.com. Look on The Crew and The Gallery pages. The DVC 30 has been a terrific camera. Easy set up and break down. Great images. Pro features that are easy to use.

Hey Frank and welcome to DVinfo. I've moved your post over to the Panasonic DVX / DVC Assistant that encompasses the DVC30.

I am reediting BDIS right now. I am tightening up some edits and deleting parts that are dated. I hope to have it ready to show in 2006. I will be entering the documentary in film festivals next year and maybe it will be picked up for distribution like American Movie was, and Beer Drinkers in Space can be included on the DVD with the documentary.

More progress made on the documentary. Check out the home page of the website; www.beerdrinkersinspace.com. We're now entering some festivals and getting publicity. We added some hand-held DVC-30 footage that I had to shoot on auto, even though everything else in the doc was shot in manual and under controlled conditions. The hand-held footage looked great, though. Love the DVC-30!

Were you guys using video 23 years ago? Is that what I saw in the productions stills?

That's what's so great about the documentary. It was really a comedy of errors completing Beer Drinkers. Yes, we shot it on video! We abandoned 8mm film to try this new medium that offered more fexibility, it seemed. Our VHS deck cost $1200 at the time! I had to take out a loan to buy the deck. We shot it with a single tube RCA camera.

HAHAHAHAHH! Unreal! If you digitize the footage then add effects, boy, you could have a real beauty on your hands! Fabulous!
