Big Problem

Hey, guys,
I have a big problem, I think. I've only had my DVX for a couple months now, and I tried to play some footage tonight that I had recorded. The footage I shot features a lot of dark areas, and there is a very noticeable box that covers the top right half of the screen. When I adjusted color temp in the settings, I really could see the difference. What does this mean? Is there something wrong with my camera? The square image is more like a highlight over what I've recorded. When shooting in well-lit conditions, I can't notice the box as well, but in any sort of dark areas, it's definitely there. I'm worried.

Thanks,
Paul

I would definately suggest posting a link to a framegrab so folks can see what you're experiencing. Though I must say, it doesn't sound normal. Are you using the default settings in a situation of normal light...like common daytime conditions? I've never seen a "box" on any of my footage so if it's anything like I am imagining then I would think you have an issue, but before you start panicking post a grab for inspection...not that I can personally figure this out for you as I'm no guru, but they would want to see this as well.

If you have no way to host the file just shoot me an email and I'll gladly help you out with that.

Thanks

Thank you. I will send you a grab since I have no place to host it. What the camera is doing is really strange. In normal lighting conditions, the square isn't noticeable. In low light, though, especially when the color temp setting is altered, there is a Tetris-like block that covers over one-fourth of the screen. I'll send you the grab tomorrow. Thanks again!
