Question for Chema Martinez about PAL camera

I think you bought the camera in http://www.expandore.com, could you tell me which is the software version of you camera? You can guess it this way:

"The Software version can be checked in the diagnostic menue that can be opened by pressing the buttons: AudioDub and rewind simultaniously plus the menue button. then go to diag menue and find point where you can see c:... and it should read at least 1.08."

Which is your number?

Thanks

Hi.

I bought mine at Expandore as well and the software versions on mine are: V: 1.02 and C: 1.08.

Yes, so far I am happy. It is a great camcorder. =)
There are some stills from my first tests with it at http://www.techcrew.net/dvx100 if you haven't seen those already.

VAT

I don't know what VAT is but... did you have to pay it?

How much was it?

Did you have to pay any money to DHL for duties or customs?

Thanks.

VAT stands for Value Added Tax. Or just in plain English, taxes.

I don't know where you are from so I hope you know what taxes
are....

Johan Lundberg: Since I'm also a Swede and just might be going for the DVX-100 from expandore, I'm curious as to how much it cost you (with duties and tax).

You can e-mail me if you want to take it off-list.

Ha en bra dag

Since more people seems to be interested.. =)

When I contacted Expandore I was quoted US$3230 for the DVX100E including shipping to my doorstep with DHL. It looks like they have raised the price a little now. When I ordered the webpage said $3250 and did not mention anything about included shipping. But even though they have raised the price, the dollar is very cheap (at least for us in Sweden) compared to when I ordered, so I think you still can make a really good deal by ordering from them. I should also say that I added 2 D28 batteries and 20 minidv tapes to the order. Also at great price and without any extra shipping costs.

VAT and custom fees were added when the camcorder reached my country. VAT here in Sweden is as high as 25% and custom fees are 2%. However if you run a business you can get rid of the VAT, so I got away really cheap. The wire transfer from the bank costed about $25-$30. Anyway in the end I had saved about $1900 by ordering from Expandore instead of buying it here in Sweden. If I would order it today I would have saved even more... =/ Oh well I guess I shouldn't complain really. =)

Hope this was to any help. If you have any further questions feel free to ask here on the board or drop me a mail.
Good luck with your purchase!

I should also mention that..
I am about to send my DVX100 in for a warranty covered service, so I am soon going to find out how good Expandore is at returns and service. I expect nothing but a good experience, but I will of course keep you guys informed on how it goes.

About the ordering process all I can say is that it was a true pleasure doing business with Expandore. Steven's personal attention to my order was really appreciated, and the fast replies to mail and fast shipping was nothing but great. I can highly recommend this company to anyone in Europe interested in buying the DVX100 but just like me thinks it is way overpriced here.
