Slo-Mo and Variable Movie Mode with GH2?

If I drop 60p footage into a 24p timeline and use interpret footage, do I conform it to 24fps or 23.976? Also, is it okay to go 60 to 24 or is 50% speed going to look better, and thus make the timeline 30p?

Also, in terms of the variable movie mode, is there any benefit to shooting say, 300% speed, vs. recording it at regular speed and then adjusting it to 300% in post? What about shooting at 300% and then slowing it down...any benefit? Just trying to get a handle on the purpose of that mode vs. altering in post.

Also, for doing slo-mo, which one is better...60i in 1920x1080 or 60p in 1280x720? Do you just pick the resolution that coincides with the other footage on the timeline, or does one do a better job than the other?
