Canon 50mm 1.4

What a lens, I want to throw my Panasonic lenses away, but I can't, I still need them. The fotodiox adapter works great, no complaints at all. When it breaks, you'll hear about it! If lens is not installed correctly, it will fall off, so be careful.

Re: Canon 50mm 1.4

Is this the FD or EF/EOS flavor? Any samples we can see?

EF. I'm about to go shoot at the park, I need to pick up a ND filter, I'll post something later if I can remember!

Re: Canon 50mm 1.4

I just ordered the Canon FD 85mm f/1.2 L lens. I'm so excited I don't know whether to sh_t or go blind. I found if for $650 at Adorama, this is nearly a $1k lens normally, the EOS (current) version is $2100, so this is a lot of glass for the money. Sadly, it will be so long (170mm effective focal length) it will be used only for vows, ring exchanges, etc., but it will really shine.

Re: Canon 50mm 1.4

Jeff, why are you buying all Canon lenses? Won't Nikon work as well?

Re: Canon 50mm 1.4

Norm, it seems logical to me to stick with one line of lenses, for several reasons.

1. I like Canon lenses
2. Why would I want to have to keep track of different adapters for different lenses? With one brand/mount they all use the same adapters.
3. Nikon sucks eggs. (just kidding)

Re: Canon 50mm 1.4

Yes, Nikon, Canon, they both outstanding. Canon was what I was introduced to, and there are some that like the looks of Canon lenses better, but I haven't compared the two, so don't know.

Nikon probably is more popular, I don''t know. I know in Cincinnati, Nikon is what they use. Canon is really looked down on here, and they have a real attitude about it too! That has only made me like Canon more!

Re: Canon 50mm 1.4

Got the lens this morning. 85mm f/1.2 is a dangerous lens. The quality is remarkable. Impossible to use handheld.
