best manual 135mm

I'm thinking of asking in the Canon forums, but I know gh2 users like to use old manual lens so that's why I'm asking here. Applications are gonna be for weddings.

Re: best manual 135mm

That's hard to answer Victor (especially since I don't do weddings) IMO, I would look at 50mm for tighter shots, I love my Nikkor 55mm 2.8 but for something that needs to work in lower light, either my Pentax G 50mm 1.7 or Canon 50mm 1.4.

My preference would be the Pentax because it's nearly as sharp and handles better.

For wider shots....hands down, Nikkor 24mm 2.8.

I just reread it Victor. Sorry, it's been a long night.
I'll go to bed now.

Leica Elmarit-R 135 (debatable). There are a number of good 135/2.8s to be had.

The Canon EF 135/2L is a solid lens as well

The vintage Canon FD glass works well and is a relative bargain.

Canon FD 135mm f2.0, FD 135mm f2.8 & 135mm f3.5

135mm F/2.5 is a fun cheap lens. Not the greatest, but really cheap. I haven't used mine in over a year, I need to sell it along with my fisheye, but I've been too lazy.

For wedding work it just seemed so much easier to buy a videocamera, which I eventually did. Best decision I ever made.

Yeah, I want a camcorder and then DSLR for beauty shot. Takumar 135 f2.5 right?

is there a difference between takumar and super takumar?

Re: best manual 135mm

I have a Yashica/Contax 135/2.8 - I get very nice results, although it's not a lens length I use very often. I think it cost me £50 on ebay.

Ben.

I've got the Canon FD 135 f2 - more than happy with it.
Sharp and fast.
