Do you use Top Handle Grip on GH5?
Hi,
I'd like to know if a Top Handle Grip is useful to hold the GH5 in your hands (to shoot only videos). I will not connect anything, sometimes just a spotlight. But I would like to know if you find it ergonomically useful. Thank you

Re: Do you use Top Handle Grip on GH5?
Having been a 'proper' camcorder user, I sometimes prefer to use a top handle as it makes it easier to hold the camera steadily, but I won't use the cold shoe on the GH5 as I don't trust it that much. I have a Movcam cage for the camera, - this has a top handle held on by a NATO threaded bar which seems much more secure

Do you use the GH5 with the SmallRig and Top Handle Grip? What I'd like to know:
do use your GH5 really like a camcorder? Do you leave it mounted for all the shots? Thanks

Re: Do you use Top Handle Grip on GH5?
I don't have a 'Smallrig' top handle, I use the one that came as part of the Movcam kit. It has wooden inserts so it is quite comfortable when using it as a camcorder. The excellent 5-axis in body stabilisation makes that possible.
I also use the camera with a Ninja V fitted onto the GH5 cold shoe with a short cold shoe to 1/4 20 ball mount. That combination works well when travelling, because it is easy to break down and put into a Tenba backpack. |
