Firestore FS-3 and HVX-502 with V-mount?
Hi all,
couls someone please tell me if the firestore FS-3 with V-mount adaptor will work with a 502 with a V-mount adaptor? No one could tell me if the firewire port would trigger (start/stop) the FS-3. Cheers, DC |

I guess what I need to know is if the signals coming from the Panasonic via the Firewire port will control such devices the same as what my old DSR-570 did.
I asked Focus Enhancements and the US support guy said "yep, no problems, as long as all you want is DV files", which is all I need. The Eurpoean support guy said, "no! The only Firestore product that works with the HPX-502 is the FS100". I am assuiming he might have thought I wanted DVCPRO50 compatible files or HD files, as the FS100 sure does have a large DVCPRO50 badge on the front of it. Any info would be appreciated. Hi David,
I think your right with your questions, Ben B over at- 2-Pop Forums - Powered by vBulletin go to Panasonic P2 sub forum. is the guy with all the Firestore knowledge, Pop him the questions. Maybe even get onto Lemac in Syd and hire a unit for an hour or so and test for yourself. I use an old Nnovia V-mount HDD on my Pana SPX800 fed from firewire port it works great, only set back is it's just DV resolution, you need the firestore to get higher res's files. I don't think that Firestore has V-mount yet they just "Clip" anywhere you like because they are so small. Cheer Tom K olinevideo.com.au Last edited by Tom Klein; October 1st, 2008 at 05:12 PM.
