What to set the Shutter at when shooting overseas in a 50hz environment??

I have one final question about my HPX 170. When I have shot overseas in the past (which I do on a regular basis) I have always shot with a camera that has a shutter speed of either 1/100 sec or 1/50 sec so that I can eliminate the flicker that you get from fluorescent lights in a 220 environment.

I have noticed that I don't have this option on my HPX 170.

Is there a way to I can achieve this on the HPX 170? Can I set the shutter to a certain degree to eliminate the flicker?

Thanks,

Daniel Weber

Yes, you can get those shutter speeds through the Syncro Scan function.

Thanks Barry.

By the way, your HPX book is awesome. Very helpful and well written.

I just shot in Copenhagen at the climate summit in December. I dialed in 1/50th shutter speed using the syncro scan and all was well, no flicker. Same with my 5D MKII in France last Summer, 1/50th and everything was sweet.
