What to set the Shutter at when shooting overseas in a 50hz environment??
I have one final question about my HPX 170. When I have shot overseas in the past (which I do on a regular basis) I have always shot with a camera that has a shutter speed of either 1/100 sec or 1/50 sec so that I can eliminate the flicker that you get from fluorescent lights in a 220 environment.
I have noticed that I don't have this option on my HPX 170. Is there a way to I can achieve this on the HPX 170? Can I set the shutter to a certain degree to eliminate the flicker? Thanks, Daniel Weber |

Yes, you can get those shutter speeds through the Syncro Scan function.

Thanks Barry.
By the way, your HPX book is awesome. Very helpful and well written. Daniel Weber |

I just shot in Copenhagen at the climate summit in December. I dialed in 1/50th shutter speed using the syncro scan and all was well, no flicker. Same with my 5D MKII in France last Summer, 1/50th and everything was sweet.
