Night Shoot questions.

For my field lighting class, we have to do a short shoot that recreates the feeling of night. It can be interior or exterior, but besides what I have just mentioned, I'm in the dark with this project. Any suggestions?

I assume you mean shooting day for night? If so, the basic rules are:
- Shoot backlit
- Shoot about 3 stops underexposed (or expose for the highlights)
- Shoot with 3200K setting
- Avoid areas that are in direct sunlight

The last one is the difficult one. For example, if you're shooting down an alley and at the end of the alley is a building across the street and the sun is hitting it, there goes your illusion. Also avoid cars, streetlights, etc., that are not on in the daytime but would be if it were dark.
