Yes, that is an interesting way to mount it. Too bad it looks as if it would somewhat interfere with the battery plate and the bank switches.

That is the real challenge Richard. In order to use the stock length rods on the Chimeras at least, you have to make sure that the Rod mounting points are close enough together OR you have to sell some shorter rods and mount on the corners of the light fixture.

So far, my speedring is working out very well. I think Dana's setup probably works well too since he is not blocking any of the LED's output.
