No, the Zylight Z-90 gives constant output down to it's minimum voltage rating, although I forget exactly what it is, 7.5 volts or so. As long as you stay above the minimum voltage the light output is constant.

You'll get constant light output over its wide operating range of voltages. It's a regulated output.
