It isn't bad to use the F770 battery at all. =)

Alex DeJesus August 20th, 2010 06:40 PM

Yeah, but I also need to power up a monitor. It would be good if one battery can tap off to both.

Taky Cheung August 20th, 2010 06:42 PM

Then don't blame the light for the increase price tag because you need a battery to power the light and a monitor .. hehe :)

Specs look impressive, wonder how accurate they are.

These are knock offs made with poor quality. Check out this post from another member bought one from them, then have to pay shipping send back to them.

I am quite pleased with my Comer LED light, and the YouTube video comparison was extremely helpful.

I bought a spare plastic shoe in case the original broke as it was really inexpensive, but so far I have not smacked the light so the plastic shoe lives on.

The question is, will the new metal shoe fit the old light?

Taky Cheung August 29th, 2010 06:21 AM

Dave, glad to hear you like the light. Yes the metal show is the same size as the plastic shoe.

Alex DeJesus September 10th, 2010 10:42 PM

I must say that is one powerful light. I can't wait to use it

Seems like a very nice piece of equipment, when do you think this light will undergo a redesign to the mount so that it will not risk damaging an intelligent hot shoe?

Taky Cheung September 11th, 2010 08:58 AM

Since they recently upgraded the plastic shoe to metal shoe, it is very unlikely they will redesign the shoe again. There're incidents people use excessive force so the stud tightened punching to the shoe to the Panasonic GH1. I have used GH1 with the Comer light but don't have that problem. You can also use an adapter like this to convert the shoe

As I've had a different problem mounting the 1800 on another cold shoe I'm curious how the adaptor you linked to is of any use?
I see it'll attach to the cold shoe at one end but the other is a male 1/4" thread. The 1800 also has a male 1/4" thread and ..... I'm sure you see the problem :)

Hi Bob, hehehe.. it is really not the problem.. when it comes to this male-male situation, unlike human being, the comer light stud can be retracted (by turning the knob) and turns into female (without the need of surgery). Now that's a happy match =)
