Looking for Mired values

Somewhere on this forum I think I remember seeing a great post about figuring out the mired values thing. I think I must be spelling it wrong because a search is turning up nothing. Can someone point me to the right word that I'm looking for.

I'm a bi-lingual illiterate-cant reed or right in too languages :)

I remember the DV magazine had a little article on the value of mireds. It might be of some use to you.
The link is: DV101 - The Magic of Mireds

Hope that helps!

While I don't know many working video pros I've come across who spend much time calculating mired shifts - you can use the mired shift calculator on the Lee filters site (Lee Filters - Welcome) to see the filters they recommend to achieve such shifts.

It seems to me that after a short time browsing the possibilities, you'll see that the thumbnail wisdom of the industry (e.g. add CTB to raise color temps and/or add CTO to lower them) and a gel stock that includes variants of both - are likely all you need to get a basic handle on practical lighting approaches.

But if you want to dive into the science behind it - hey, have a great time!
