Dimmer on a fel lamp? at DVinfo.net

I am new to lighting and would like to know if
1) If you can use a dimmer with a fel lamp.
2) Will this significantly lower the life time of the lamp?

Did a better search of the site, and the one response I found said there was not
a noticeable degradation of the life of the bulb.

That's true. If anything, dimming will increase the life of the lamp.
