Good luck... I've been looking for one of these for almost 2 years now. Not only are they discontinued, but I think that any available might have been sucked into a blackhole.

why were these discontinued?
it seems like a good product...
do these take miniDV's as well? or is there a separate one made that does?

I believe there were 2 models- one took MiniDV and DV, the other took larger format tapes. But, I won't swear to that.

Everything is in perfect working order. The optics are clean with no scratches or dust. All batteries charge and last as expected. LCD monitor works as new. Everything is in perfect working order.

The camera was purchased new in April of 2004. It is technically out of warranty now, but I never filled out the registration card.

is it the new or old version?

I'm not sure if it is an old or new version. It is about 1 1/2 years old. I can send a pic if you're interested or if there is any distinguishing features between the two, I can look for them.

Just to be clear, this is the Isolator for the viewfinder not the mic Isolator.

The FS-1 doesnt come with a hard drive--it allows you to write video to an external drive via Firewire.

GL2 for sale
 

I have a GL2 that I am trying to sell that includes 3 extended life batteries and 2 regular batteries. I used the camera last summer a lot in Montana filming a documentry, but now I would like to move on to a different camera. The camera is in perfect working order with barely any visual blemishes. Although it does have a slight problem that doesn't affect the filming: the battery doesn't lock into place, the lock is jammed or something. I never considered sending it to Canon to have it fixed only because it really didn't make much of a difference and never was a problem for me. I'll also include a wide angle and telephoto lens for the GL2 and a heavy duty carrying case. Asking price is about $1700 dollars. You can email me at McPhil47@aol.com if you are interested.
