I am using a Miller DS10, which is shorter 32 inches when collapsed. Loved the Vinten but just too big.

Truth in advertising, my friends from the TSA broke the spreader and put a ding in the head; sent it to Vinten in LA, the fixed the spreader under warranty, said other than the ding, the tripod is good shape.
