FS in US: Red Eye 82mm 0.7x Wide Angle adapter

Red Eye Wide Angle adapter for 82mm front thread Professional Broadcast Lenses. This is a high-quality, W/A adapter that is about the size of a filter and weighs less than 100 grams. It threads onto the front of a camera lens. The 0.7x wide angle adapter will provide a 30% wider image and is supplied in a slim leather belt pouch. One major advantage of the Red Eye is that it can be used with your existing lens hoods and matte boxes.

The Red Eye was designed as a non-zoom through wide angle adapter. Set the zoom lens to its widest focal length, adjust focus ring to infinity and focus using the macro adjustment. However, the information on the FAQS page on their website claims it will work as a zoom-through with most cameras that have auto-focus. This is a function of the camera more than the Red Eye. I have not tried this, so I can't verify it.

This item is basically brand new. I used it once for about 20 minutes on a job, and never used it again. Email me for pictures.

Information about the product can be found at:

http://www.vfgadgets.com/RedEye.htm

Do a Google search and you'll find many positive review on this adapter. It sells for $400 new, plus shipping from Canada where they are made. I'm asking $350, shipping included. Thanks, Jim

Fs: Bogen 503 Head, 3221 Legs & Levelling Head

Head is one year old, the "Wilderness" legs and leveler are 3 years old. Head is like new, legs are in great shape, and have only minor normal wear. This package also includes the canvas tripod case, which is scuffed up, but also still works perfectly.

Also including a spare quick release plate that I have.

$350 + paypal & shipping.

All in all a great price on a setup that performs identical to new.

I have been looking for a 503 head on a tripod that is short enough in it's folded state to set and used on a high table top. The tripod I have been using is the perfect height at 24.5", but it's junk. What is the height of your tripod in its shortest setting and is it sturdy in that position?

Stu Siegal January 26th, 2008 01:15 PM

Hi Bruce,

In it's shortest position, it is 29 inches from the top of the head to the floor, and it is very sturdy in that position, used it that way many times.

Sent you an email, but I totally forgot to ask whether this is the standard 503 or the 503HDV.

It's the standard 503 head.

Paul Cronin January 26th, 2008 03:12 PM

The Canon A1 has been sold. Thanks for all the interest.

Andrew Phillip January 26th, 2008 03:34 PM

Probably somewhere around 500$. Does that sound reasonable? It has about 2 hours of use on it thus far and I'll be shooting one final project on it.
