As far as I know the Sony GP-TRX grip is Lanc (control-L) based, and Sony's Lanc protocol is fairly standarized. So it should work.

I think I have one. I bought it on ebay for a good price. I recall it did not operate zoom except at a slow speed on an CCD-3300 Hi-8 I have. I put it in a box and now cannot find it to perform a test.
