Re: XHA1 hard drive

I went this...

Re: Event within an event?
+1 for keywords - as I see things, that's the FCPX way of handling organisation within the Event model. Iy also has the advantages that you aren't actually moving files around, so if you want to...

Re: New Mac choice for FCPX?
It appears that the new iMacs might not be out until 2013, and that the "real" upgrade to the Mac Pros will be in the same kind of timeframe.

Re: Straps/Strap Systems
RS Sport
RS-Sport R-Strap BlackRapid.com (http://www.blackrapid.com/product/camera-strap/rs-sport/)
It has the extra under-arm strap.
I sometimes think the BR is overkill for the GH2, but...

Re: New Mac choice for FCPX?
There's a negative spiral in play here - as iMacs get more powerful, they start to take some of the sales that, in earlier times, would have gone to Mac Pros. Mac Pro market shrinks, sales (and thus...

Re: Craig: You're correct. (I'm just resisting)
Just to pick up this one point: Apple's retail stores aren't only about image - they're financially extremely successful (over $1Bn in margin in the last reported quarter, which was about 10% of...

Re: moving FCP X project/event locations
It's more about the fact that FCPX project files contain location info for the event files (and any other files that might be references, like still image files). As others have said, it is ppssible...

Re: New Mac choice for FCPX?
I've just bought a 27" iMac with the 6970 1GB graphics card and upgraded the memeory to 12GB and FCPX works very smoothly indeed.

Re: Where best to read about the hacks?
I played around with hacks on a GH1 (just got a GH2 and haven't done much). Anything by lpowell has been solid and reliable. He seems to find a good balance between worthwhile improvements in bitrate...

Re: FCPX & Thunderbolt
Moving the application itself is tricky, but you can make the Thunderbolt drive your location for all the work files, which will make a big difference

I think something different - that Apple is changing its approach to this. Historically, Aple has never provided roadmaps for any product, nor released details of forthcoming products prior to...

Re: FD to EOS adapter ? any advice
Opinions are very divided on this. Some people feel that even the best adapters compromise image quality too much; others (like me) are pretty happy to accept a slight drop in IQ for the convenience...

"It" is an indicator of exposure compensation - that is by how much the exposure has been adjusted over (+) or under (-) the exposure automatically calculated by the camera.

Re: Canon FD lenses on GH2
Can't speak for the 1.2, but I got a 1.4 for $80 plus shipping, and I wouldn't go a lot higher than that. They're pricier than they were, simply because they've become quite fashionable for M43
