Re: Davinci Resolve - Can't Click & Drag Titles

This is gonna be a hardware issue. I noticed I can move open windows around, but I can't click and drag any icons on my desktop. I swapped my mouse with another one in the same port. That didn't...

Re: Davinci Resolve - Can't Click & Drag Titles

Thank you for responding Christopher. The lock was off.

I can sample the different title options, but when I left click to drag one over, the software doesn't respond.

The title isn't...

Davinci Resolve - Can't Click & Drag Titles

I'm switching software over to DR 18.X and was doing fine until this last project where I can't click and drag a text title over to the timeline.

I've restarted the program and the computer to...

Re: Canon DSLR to AX100

Just now seeing the last two posts and couldn't agree more. That first wedding event is over now so I'm a bit smarter although we haven't edited any 4K footage yet.

I set my daughter up at stage...

Re: Canon DSLR to AX100

I paid more for the AX100 for it's supposed better low light capability. Hope that wasn't a mistake.

Regardless, I just watched some footage from last night's rehearsal. It looks freakin awesome...

Re: Canon DSLR to AX100

Some more learning curve notes that may be of some benefit to new users:

Keep in mind, my DSLR's did not have zebras and focus peaking so I'm not used to relying on them.

I tested the camera...

Re: Canon DSLR to AX100

Great info, thanks. Concerning the soap opera look, I can't quite put my finer on it. Not sure if it's frame rate, aperture, sharpness or a combination thereof.

I dont mean to be critical, im...

Re: Canon DSLR to AX100

Interesting, does anyone know if the exposure compensation setting is overridden if Spot Exposure/Focus is chosen?

Do you use spot exposure/focus or something else?

Canon DSLR to AX100

Just got this AX100 for a travel cam and tripod wedding cam.

I've only had a few moments to test and going to use it at a wedding in four days. Here are some initial observations from some brief...

Re: First foray into 4K with a AX100 - tips?

I’m in the same boat as the OP. The camera will be manned, but will be on a tripod during the ceremony, then handheld afterwards.

Rather than using Auto with AE Comp set at a half stop...

Re: Deinterlacing Confusion

I tested many more files of all sizes and think I have it figured out.

The files that don't convert appear to have a dropped frame in them. When I watch the m2t files they have a hiccup in...

Re: Deinterlacing Confusion

Thank you

I was able to convert two 65MB files to avi and remove pulldown. However, when i try to do a 1.3 GB file, HDLink quickly hangs up with a "not responding" message.

This happens...

Deinterlacing Confusion

Sorry to ask this when there is tons of info already written on the topic, but I'm confused.

I have a Canon HV30 that records 24p in a 60i stream. I just downloaded CineForm and removed pulldown...

Re: Shakin' things up a bit

Wow, now that's different. Thanks for sharing.

This looks like something planned by the bride and groom as much or more than the videographer.

I believe I'd trade a ring shot for the guy at...

Re: Shakin' things up a bit

No, no, I'm not that talented. It may be staged; yet, in my eyes it's refreshing and original art.

I would hope it's timeless.

What do you think he's using for lights on the reception dance...

Shakin' things up a bit

Not sure if this is appropriate to share interesting finds here, but I thought this one was good. Perhaps I'm getting a little bored with the same old thing. If I see one more staged bride tapping...

Re: How many of you use Nikon D7000, D5100

The 5100 did much better than I anticipated in low light. See the test at 3:25 here: Nikon D5100 vs Canon T3i/600D Video Shootout - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaLLcqdttEQ)

Re: How many of you use Nikon D7000, D5100

I tried a 3100 I believe it was, but the rolling shutter was so bad I took it back and got a T2i.

Re: GPU/buying a new card vs faster CPU

That's some useful info, thanks for sharing.

I've got a MSI motherboard with switches that allow overclocking at 10, 15, and 20%. I've been researching better video cards and more memory, but...

Re: just got the manfrotto 561HDV monopod

I had heard about WD-40 but was kind of sorry I sprayed mine. It was much more difficult to lock it in the middle.

It's a trade off. I suspect it will tighten back up a bit as I continue to use...

Re: Mixing DSLR and camcorder footage

My wife is going to use an HV30 to fill in some of what I miss. She's not fully up ot speed on the DSLR.
