Re: Splitting a lavelier

Its much more reliable to simply put your receiver much closer to the body back. I often have to do this at outdoor events.

I'd also get another mic rig on a different frequency group. If there...

Re: no much 7d mark ii talk?

I'm with you, Chris. Every new camera announcement, I check to see if it uses the same touchscreen (and face tracking) as the 70D. We shoot wedding videos, and it has made my life measurably...

Re: Why do some of you use DSLRs?

You'd have to be clear on what you need the camera to do, or want it to do.

Personally, we use multiple cameras, including the 5d Mark ii, for full frame (shallow DOF when we want it, better low...

Re: Why do some of you use DSLRs?

I believe most DSLRs now shoot for 30 minutes, which is very workable, especially compared to the old 12 minute limit (like on my 5d Mark ii, though Magic Lantern helps with that). We use 3 cameras,...

Re: now that NAB is done. (new camara)

I don't know about better but I'm trying to see if the 7d uses a touchscreen. The 70D lets you touch the person's face, then it will track them. Its big issue is probably that its usable iso is...

Re: now that NAB is done. (new camara)

Anytime I get the itch for a new camera I think of what I want it to do. What do you want from yours?

For me, I really like the facial tracking auto-focus on our 70Ds for weddding prep and...

Re: A dilemma - what would you do

Here in the U.S., this would be in small claims court and, even if the other company didn't have a clause about returning phone calls or some such, a judge might rule against them because of a...

Re: Film or Video

Use all the terms you want. You don't pick just one, or a few anymore.

Most if the SEO on your site will come from titles of pages (that also need to match up with); the content of the pages...

Re: 3DR's new drone - Solo, for $1000... IN BEST BUY

That and I can pop the GoPro off the 3dR drone and use it for other things. At a wedding, for instance, a timelapse (indoor or outdoor), or as an extra camera angle.

The only blu-ray I made a point of buying was the "Planet Earth" collection. That is excellent. My player came in my PS3, though for a while we also had a stand alone that could do streaming. Now...

Re: 3DR's new drone - Solo, for $1000... IN BEST BUY

I've been flying their Iris+ and like it. Their customer service, via email, is always back to me in about 12-24 hours, unlessits the weekend. No experience with Phantom and DJI.

3DR's new drone - Solo, for $1000... IN BEST BUY

3DR unveiled their new UAV and it has some neat features. Most interesting for me is that it is only $1000 and will be in Best Buy stores (seriously?) May 31st.

Along with upgrading the software...

LOL

Remember, folks, a waiver of liability doesn't protect you from your own negligence!

Re: Drones at weddings.

For those who haven't stood near one of these when its flying, but along with the noise in general, there is definitely a fear factor, a defensiveness, from anyone not controlling it that is nearby. ...

Lunar eclipse... failure

But we learn from our failures, right?

I tried to do a photo time lapse but spaced them out too far, and the resulting video was unpleasant to watch. I had done 10 seconds between shots. The...

Re: Shoot high ISO in camera or boost in post?

My understanding was it matters how close to correct your exposure is. For instance, slightly dim is fine, but at some point on the curve, the value of low-noise iso is gone because of how dark the...

Re: Ask the FAA to allow this!

Usually a restriction like that has an exception for a 'not the focus if attention' sort of view.

Reminds me of movies and songs. The company owns the movie/song. You bought a license. For...

Its almost more embarrassing. His excuse is that he tried to make money via his videos (ads on YouTube), but was bad at it, and so it... shouldn't count?

Re: FAA Streamlines UAS COAs for Section 333

but it doesn't ease the restriction on getting a section 333 exemption, which requires an actual licensed pilot to fly the darn thing.
